Polyethylene

An online exhibition presented by Red Arrow Gallery, June 17 – August 20  2022

To make the paintings in this series I applied watercolor to paper with and through polyethylene matrixes like plastic grocery store bags and polyester dryer sheets. Plastic in its ubiquity on this warming planet is central to a grand chemical experiment, a long uncharted journey of disintegration and coalescence. How will the eventual decomposition of this stuff shape the world? These paintings imagine landscapes of that future.
